scattering of Power, and Interdependence among states. Anarchy according to realism is the
primary characteristic of the international system. This essentially says there is no overarching
authority so each state must appear strong in enjoin to keep on a war since each state has no real
laws to imitate or at least no one to execute said laws. Realists also point to the security dilemma,
which states that when one state takes an aggressive action for purely defensive reasons it lowers
other states security. They consequently must also take an aggressive action for purely defensive reasons.
