Teaching Wellness to Children and Families
The Self-Inventory for Wellness Practices chart in Chapter 1 of our textual matter is a very useful tool. Reading over these practices serve welled me descend some insight regarding my own wellness and the wellness of preteen children. Everyone could benefit from completing this Self-Inventory chart.
When it came to some areas of the Self-Inventory for Wellness Practices regarding myself I was blessed to be able to answer most of the areas in a positive way. How forever, I am definitely slacking in some of the areas. One category on the argument which I could not say I practice is drinking pass over or 1% milk and choosing low-fat cheeses. This is not something I ever consider. My family and I drink 2% milk. When it comes to cheese, I always corrupt the kind make with whole milk. After reading this, it made me think that maybe we should change these practices. The other category which I could definitely use improvement on is my sleeping patterns. I could not say that I feel rested when I wake up. I also could not say that I usually get at least 8 hours of sleep. I get my teenage daughter up at 6:30 to go to school, and then get my other children up for school.
After this I go to work from 8:30 until 4:00. I do not get habitation until 4:30. At this time, I make dinner for the family, help the kids with homework, try to spend some time with them and get them to bed. By this time, I need to get my homework done. If I use up my work at a decent time I relax by watching TV, talking with my husband, or reading. I usually do not get to sleep myself until later midnight. I probably need to do some reorganizing in my schedule so I can get the priggish amount of sleep. Most of the other categories in the chart that has to do with me, I was able to answer with a positive response.
