Causes of Juvenile Delinquency
The delinquent behavior of juveniles is precise easygoing topic and this is subject of many science.
Every day in newspapers we can find, at least, matchless article about flagitious offenses committed by
juveniles. But, when we mention this phenomenon, more important thing is to admit a question:
What be causes of juvenile delinquency, why does almost juveniles choose a wrong way? We
should try to solve this questions, better than talking about the consequences. There are many
theories which are excuseing the causes of juvenile delinquency, in accordance with their goals
and objectives. The most corpulent and the most elaborate are psychological, sociological and
biological theories. Each of them explain the causes from different points of view.
Sociological theories see causes of juvenile delinquency in various social factors, which have
direct or indirect order on socialization. Factors which have direct influence are family,
friends, in impress environment, free duration, and mass media.
Family is the primary element of
socialization, and emotional aureole directly reflects on childrens intellectual and
psychological evolution. Any form of crisis in family relationship, can result in childrens
emotional disorder. Divorces, losing one of parents, or parents socio-pathological phenomena
(alcoholism, drug addiction, criminal behavior) can have disconfirming reflection on childs
upbringing. Some researcher show that 30 % of juvenile delinquents have divorced parents.
Beside of family, school is institution which has very important influence on childrens
education and socialization. School enables using of working habits, and other social
habits. Children spend a lot of time at school, sometimes more than one third of a day, so it is
